Armistice Parade and Remembrance Sunday
On Saturday 11th November as part of the Remembrance weekend we went to Bedworth in wonderful sunshine to share their Armistice Parade. It was their 102nd Parade to remember the end of WW1. It is so well supported by the whole of the town and surrounding areas. All four of my cadets attended as well as the High Sheriff of Warwickshire, Sophie Hilleary, Monica Fogarty, Chief Executive of Warwickshire County Council, the Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth as well as many other civics.
This year a Memorial called the Poppy of Honour was present in the town. It is a travelling memorial and includes over a million poppies with the names of each person who was killed or reported missing from WW1.
On Sunday 12th November I attended the Service of Remembrance at St Marys in Warwick at 10.00am and we then laid wreaths at their Memorial.
