British Empire Medals presented to four local residents

The extraordinary achievements of four people living in Warwickshire were recognised in a formal awards presentation at the Lord Leycester Hospital by Warwickshire's Lord-Lieutenant.

The recipients each received a British Empire Medal by going ‘above and beyond’ to change the world around them for the better.

British Empire Medals (BEM) mark the exceptional contributions and service of people from across the UK. They recognise people who have made achievements in public life, committed themselves to serving and helping the UK, and who make life better for others by being outstanding at what they do.

The awards were presented in June to the following residents:

• Colin Wells, for over 45 years of service in the Ambulance Service and British Red Cross.
• David Eadon, for over 60 years as the main organiser of the Wroth Silver Annual Ceremony, which dates back to 1170.
• Peter Crathorne, for 20 years of service to the community in Henley-in-Arden.
• Naomi Rees-Issitt, for setting set up the Our Jay Foundation dedicated to purchasing and installing defibrillators and training people how to use of them.
