HRH The Princess Royal Visited Warwickshire’s Largest Sikh Temple

Warwickshire’s Sikh community warmly welcomed HRH The Princess Royal to the Gurdwara Sahib Leamington & Warwick on Thursday 4 September 2025.

This landmark occasion marks the first ever Member of the Royal Family to visit the Gurdwara, which was opened in its present location in 2009. The Princess Royal toured the Gurdwara and met a number of community volunteers. Her Royal Highness heard about the Sikh principle of ‘Sewa’ (selfless service) which underpins the community’s outreach across Warwickshire and beyond.

The Princess Royal was accompanied by Tim Cox, the Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire. She also met Mrs Penny Cox, Mr Pal Singh Sanghera, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Karen Lynch, Warwickshire High Sheriff as well as other local civic leaders. Mr Jaswant Singh Virdee, Gurdwara General Secretary formally welcomed HRH.
